Guest Editorial Special Issue on Multitask Evolutionary Computation

چکیده
It is our pleasure to introduce this special issue on multitask evolutionary computation (MTEC), focusing novel methodologies and applications of algorithms (EAs) crafted perform multiple search optimization tasks jointly. EAs are population-based methods inspired by principles natural evolution that have provided a gradient-free path solving complex learning problems. However, unlike the world where has engendered diverse species produced differently skilled subpopulations, in silico typically designed evolve set solutions specialized for just single target task. This convention problem in isolation tends curtail power xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">implicit parallelism population. Skills evolved given instance do not naturally transfer populations tasked solve another. Hence, convergence rates remain restrained, even settings related with overlapping spaces, similar optimal solutions, or other forms reusable information, routinely recurring.

Guest Editorial Special Issue on Preference-Based Multiobjective Evolutionary Algorithms
Multiobjective optimization deals with finding and evaluating a number of trade-off optimal solutions. Evolutionary multiobjective optimization (EMO), started in early nineties, is now a fast-growing field of research and application in evolutionary computation. Numerous different algorithms have been developed to address computationally complex problems. Many of these algorithms attempt to fin...
متن کاملGuest Editorial Special Issue: Configuration
Configuration can be defined as the composition of a complex product from instances of a set of component types taking into account restrictions on the compatibility of those component types. For supporting product configuration, different AI approaches are well established as central technologies in industrial configuration systems. However, the wide industrial use of configuration technologie...
متن کاملGuest editorial: special issue on electronic voting
T HIS special issue provides representative samples of the excellent research being carried out in electronic voting today—in areas as diverse as statistics, usability, cryptography, formal methods in security and experimental computer security analysis. It is perhaps the first broadly defined special issue of a technical journal in this rapidly growing and important research area. The last few...
متن کاملGuest Editorial: Special Issue on Enterprise Systems
The term Enterprise System is interpreted and defined in many different ways. Up to date there is no single universally accepted definition. It is often thought of as a multilevel system composed of business, information processing and ICT levels. Other authors view it as " an integrated system, built on one database " (Strong and Volkoff, 2004) or as a single system that is central to the orga...
متن کاملGuest Editorial Special Issue on Robotics Education
O VER the centuries, the engineering profession has evolved to meet the growing needs of society, resulting in demand for and creation of new engineering disciplines. Biomedical, environmental, aeronautical, and computer engineering are four examples of engineering branches that emerged to educate rising generations of engineers to find solutions to new challenges requiring a diverse set of kno...
